About Alliance
Alliance Construction reflects Corey Altazin’s journey—one that started in shop class at Central High School in Baton Rouge. Amid the tools and the whir of machines there, he began to learn the craft of building.
After graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond with a business degree, Corey spent a decade in sales. Yet, his heart was never far from building things. Under the guidance of his uncle, who owned Choppin Construction, Corey honed his skills after hours—learning the trade one task at a time.
In 2008, when the economy faltered and opportunities in sales dried up, Corey took a chance on himself. He turned to his love of making things, starting a construction business from scratch during one of the toughest times to do so. It wasn’t just about survival; it was about discovery.
Over the years, Corey found his calling: He took on the kinds of projects that others walked away from—the unusual, the intricate, the nerve-wracking. Like the koi pond he built in a living room or the Ansel vent hood he mastered when other commercial contractors wouldn’t dare try. These projects are more than just feats of construction; they are a testament to Corey’s willingness to embrace the unknown, take risks, and deliver with each new challenge. “I like to take on something that makes me nervous,” Corey says. “It pushes me to grow, to build Alliance while ensuring the job gets done and the clients get exactly what they envisioned.”
Alliance now operates with agility, pulling together the right people for each project based on its demands. This flexibility allows Corey to offer a wide range of services and build relationships with clients who return to Alliance for residential and commercial construction services.
